ABOUT ANDY

Andy Gannon is a producer, songwriter and mixer based in the renowned music city of Manchester, having grown up in nearby Stoke On Trent. Andy has established his credentials by working with artists including Robbie Williams, The Hara, Bilk, Kay Young and Glass Caves. Andy is at the forefront of emerging music in the UK with his work often getting recognition on everything from Radio 1 & 6 Music to 'New Music Friday' & 'Hot New Music' playlists all over the world. Andy also has notable engineering credits on records by Clean Bandit, Rudimental, Fickle Friends and Jax Jones.

From his own in the box studio "House Of Chella", in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter, Andy’s mantra on writing & production is to be unapologetically bold and individual, not concerned with tedious knob twizzling and boring button pushing. Andy’s focus is to birth songs that truly capture the character and heart of every artist he works with. Often opting to start sessions on zoom or even with a mobile rig in someone’s living room, he recognises that the best music is made where artists feel most at ease.

From early beginnings in indie bands that toured and supported the likes of Catfish And The Bottlemen, Nothing But Thieves, Wolf Alice and The Big Moon, Andy became more than accustomed to the way artists ticked. Going on to work with hit maker Mark Ralph and prolific Grammy winning producer and mixer Tchad Blake, Andy has been taught by the very best in the art of making records. He straddles the line between indie and pop, striving to give pop songs the striking originality they need to cut through and giving indie artists the pop sensibility they need to seize unforgettable hooks.

Andy is a multi-instrumentalist who also sessions as a guitar and bass player and is a prolific programmer, often putting full instrumental ideas together single-handedly to help an artist understand their own vision.
